Ever been driving along, rocking out to something embarrassing, and think to yourself, “man, I really wish there were some strangers here in my car with me.”
Well, Zimride has your back.
The startup is like an Airbnb for ride shares, letting users sell empty seats in their cars to others looking to score a ride along popular routes.
So even if you’re not looking to fill some deep-seated (seewhatididthere?) desire to pack your car with people who you’ve never met before, this could be an interesting way to make a little bit of money for people who constantly find themselves riding alone, while also helping those without cars who don’t want to rent/hitchhike.
Oh yeah, and save the earth, etc…
Have I tried it yet? No. But I’m more than willing to, and might give it a shot next time I plan a road trip.
